Our resident flooring expert Matt returned from the Surfaces show in Vegas with one thing on his mind – our outdoor laminate flooring which we have installed on our penthouse patio here in downtown Vancouver BC. Well, it wasn’t the first thing. It was at least the second. Here’s what Matt had to say:

Well, continued from yesterday, here’s the finished laminate floor that Matt installed. It took him from 9:00 to 2:30, with a break for lunch to install, which is pretty good time. Maybe he would have had to have spent more time on clean-up if he hadn’t had the wind to help. Who knows?
In any case, the floor was christened. Here’s the skinny:

Let’s get something out in the open, just for clarity. When we say that we’re going to install a laminate floor on the outside patio of our offices, we’re being way goofy. Under normal circumstances, it’s just not a smart thing to do. But, in the case of the usual laminate flooring installation, here’s Marc with a few points about proper subfloors:
